Our 2016-17 "Musical Migrations" Season Program Partner

Musicians of the Old Post Road is pleased to announce that we are partnering with the Refugee and Immigrant Assistance Center (RIAC) for our 2016-2017 season which is themed "Musical Migrations."

OPR has chosen to focus this season's programming on the migrations of musicians and their music in the 18th-century to help draw attention to the positive aspects of immigration and cultural cross-fertilization that are as relevant today as in earlier times. The ensemble reached out to partner with the RIAC to help raise awareness around the challenges faced by today's immigrants and refugees.

The RIAC is a community-based, non-profit, grassroots organization dedicated to promoting educational and socio-economic development in Massachusetts refugee and immigrant communities. Their services include refugee resettlement, asylee case management, counseling, outreach and education, and other social services.

Throughout our concert season, we will be raising awareness about the good work of the RIAC by having members of the community share their stories, and by holding drives to collect goods that will help the constituents they serve.

We will be collecting the following goods at our upcoming concerts!

  • November- Personal Care Products
  • December- Hats, mittens & gloves
  • March- Craft Supplies
  • April- Children's books- for all ages!
Please visit the RIAC's website and attend our concerts to learn more about the good being done by this organization!
